Ο Βασσαράς ευχαριστεί τον Πότη Θεριό / Vassaras is grateful to Peter Therios*

Ο συμπατριώτης μας Πότης Θεριός, που ζει στη Βοστώνη, προσέφερε, στην μνήμη της γυναίκας του Γεωργίας Θεριού (το γένος Χρηστάκη), ένα πολύ σημαντικό χρηματικό ποσό για την ανακαίνιση του ρολογιού στην Αγία Τριάδα.

Η πρωτοβουλία ήταν εξ ολοκλήρου δική του. Κανείς δεν ζήτησε χρήματα, κανείς δεν του πρότεινε να κάνει κάτι για το χωριό, κι αυτό είναι που κάνει την ενέργειά του ξεχωριστή και δίνει το παράδειγμα στους απανταχού Βασσαραίους. Ο Πότης είδε, με τη δική του ματιά, κάτι που έπρεπε να διορθωθεί, ανέλαβε το βάρος, ήρθε σε συνεννόηση μαζί μας και πολύ γρήγορα, όπως είδατε, το ρολόι άλλαξε όψη.

Η κοινότητα και εγώ προσωπικά τον ευχαριστούμε και τον τιμούμε γι αυτή του την ενέργεια.

Peter Therios, our fellow Vassarean who lives in Boston, Massachusetts has made a generous donation in loving memory of his wife Georgia Therios (Christakis) to be used towards the renovation of the Agia Triada Clock Tower.

On his own initiative, he proposed the renovation project and made the donation without being asked. Peter Therios saw what he believed needed to be done and took it upon himself to contact us, suggest the project and provide funding to make it happen. It is his kind action that stands out and sets an example for all Vassareans.

I am happy to report that the project has already been completed. The next time you visit Vassara you will notice that the Clock Tower looks brand new again.
