24000 Ευρώ για την ανακατασκευή του Κοινοτικού Κτηρίου στο Βασσαρά
Μετά από χρόνια εγκατάλειψης, και την επιδιόρθωση της κεντρικής αίθουσας με δικούς μας πόρους,η ανακατασκευή του κοινοτικού κτηρίου μπαίνει στην τελική φάση της.
Προχθές συνεργείο της Τεχνικής υπηρεσίας του Δήμου έκανε το αποτύπωμα του κτίσματος, ώστε να νομιμοποιηθεί με βάση την καινούργια νομοθεσία περί αυθαιρέτων.
Θα μου πείτε αυθαίρετο το κρατικό κτίσμα; Τα συμπεράσματα δικά σας.
Το έργο είναι ήδη στο τεχνικό πρόγραμμα του Δήμου και 24.000 ευρώ υπάρχουν, στο λογαριασμό της τ. Κοινότητας Βασσαρά γι αυτό το σκοπό. Μετά την τυπική διαδικασία της έκδοσης άδειας θα προχωρήσει η δημοπράτηση του έργου.
Την μελέτη για την στέγη που θα γίνει έκανε αφιλοκερδώς ο “συμπατριώτης” αρχιτέκτονας-μηχανικός Δημήτρης Μαρνέλλος με την υποστήριξη του τεχνικού γραφείου του Αραχωβίτη μηχανικού και φίλου Βασίλη Βουκίδη.
€24,000 for the restoration of the Community Building in Vassara
After many years of neglect, (and of using our own funds to repair the main room of the community building), public funding has been acquired and the full restoration of Vassara’s community building reaches its final phase.
In recent days, the Technical Division of the Municipality of Sparti created a blueprint of the building in order for it to be legalized, according to new laws regarding unauthorized constructions. How can a state building be an “unauthorized construction”?, you may ask… I leave you to make your own conclusions…
The restoration project is already a part of the Municipality’s technical program and the funding (€24,000) has been deposited into the account of the Community of Vassara.
After the formality of acquiring construction permits, the next step includes the project bidding.
Our compatriot, Dimitris Marinellos, an architect/structural engineer, has volunteered his services and will undertake the structural study of the building’s roof, along with the support of our friend from Arahova, Vasilis Voukidis, an engineer.

So very many unseen hours ,so many trips to the Town Hall .The ability to interact with people of vastly conflicting views is a rare skill .Then in a time when money is nearly impossible to find, when for years it ran like a river but nothing changed ,first a multi use sports court then a white elephant is once again set to become a valuable community asset .Makes you think doesn’t it .

I don’t understand everything written in English. Sometimes I have big difficulties and I ask for help. So let’s see the comment: “So very many unseen hours ,so many trips to the Town Hall. The ability to interact with people of vastly conflicting views is a rare skill”. Τhis is clear somebody is making a big and unseen effort. But the next phrase is a bit complicated: “Then in a time when money is nearly impossible to find, when for years it ran like a river but nothing changed, first a multi use sports court then a white elephant is once again set to become a valuable community asset”. Some words are known but I have no idea what a “white elephant” is or what the word “asset” means. “White elephant” according to Wikipedia in modern usage “is an object, scheme, business venture, facility, etc., considered without use or value” and “Asset” according to the dictionary is “a resource with economic value that an individual, corporation or country owns or controls with the expectation that it will provide future benefit”. So “white elephant” is the “koinotiko” (also for its color and size) which with the “multi use sports court” can provide future benefit for the community something which is difficult to achive because nowadays is not easy to find money as it was some years before.
Nevertheless, what makes the comment great is not its content but the way it is written. Written in third person the text manages to criticize previous and current situations without mentioned a name, without the use of “out of place” paradigms and mostly without being a blind admiration.
Maybe a few commas could make the comment more clear.
